Internship Program Description

The Inn at Meander Plantation, is a beautiful 1766 historic country inn offering fine dining and luxurious accommodations surrounded by 80 acres of rolling landscape in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With its historically significant past and its bucolic plantation location on a hill with spectacular mountain views and breathtaking sunsets, the Inn truly exudes the essence of Virginia. The Plantation was patented in 1722 by Col Joshua Fry, one of the early professors at the College of William and Mary where he established schools of Grammar and Mathematics in 1728-1729.

The Inn at Meander is excited about building future tourism and hospitality professionals in the region!  Our marketing coordinator internship program is designed to help current students and recent graduates gain real-world experience in the tourism and marketing industry through hands-on engagement.  The Inn at Meander Plantation is recruiting a marketing coordinator to assist with the development and implementation of our online promotional strategy aimed at attracting travelers to our region.

We are looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals to support marketing and communications efforts by implementing online marketing strategies through the development of regular online stories promoting the region and events while also helping to manage our social media accounts.

Interns will be responsible for working with the management team to develop an annual editorial calendar and 1-2 blog entries and 3-4 social media posts per week.

This is a great opportunity to build experience in tourism marketing, social networking and sustainable development while working in a fun atmosphere.  Through this internship opportunity you will take online classes about online marketing, search engine optimization, search marketing, social media, lead management, and marketing reporting. This experience and training will provide you the skills necessary for future career opportunities supporting any business with their online marketing efforts.

If you have excellent communication and writing skills and an interest in tourism and the region, this internship will be a great experience for you.
